Nadira Yapa is the Director of Jackson Teece’s Urban Design & Infrastructure group. An Urban Designer and Architect, she has over 17 years experience in the industry and has successfully delivered projects in major road transport infrastructure, Transit Oriented Developments, urban regeneration and master planning for Greenfield and Brownfield sites.
She brings to her projects a knowledge base enriched by her extensive work and research locally and internationally, including her hands-on research of the transport and planning system of Curitiba (Brazil), Hong Kong and Transit Oriented Developments in the USA.
Nadira has delivered numerous projects with highly-successful urban-design outcomes. She has a thorough understanding of the intricacies of the design process, authority requirements, the exhibition and approvals process, stakeholder and community consultation and budget and time implications of design. Her experience in the field on construction of projects enables her to understand the significance of varying contexts and specific engineering, safety and maintenance issues in relation to budget implications.
Nadira is experienced in collaborating with a diverse range of disciplines and professionals in the design process, which is reflected in the well-informed and robust design outcomes that ultimately deliver a design that supports clients’ objectives and contributes positively to the broader community.
Her qualifications in architecture and urban design are complemented by studies in Environmental Science and green building design.
