This exciting project is the culmination of extensive community consultation with numerous local groups over a number of years to determine what should be included in the new Civic Centre, Town Square and Senior Citizens / Aged Care Facility.

In addition to the extensive design of the public realm, the proposed complex comprises two buildings facing the new Town Square.

The Civic Centre houses a multi-purpose hall seating 350, community aid offices, meeting spaces and parking for 70 cars. It also provides easy access to the newly landscaped Town Square which will be used for a variety of purposes, such as markets and community events.

The Senior Citizens / Aged Care Centre includes an 87-bed, Low Care accommodation facility with a dementia wing.  Accommodation is divided into small groups of residents’ private rooms, each sharing common dining and kitchen facilities to allow for good social interaction. There are also common amenities, including recreational facilities and therapy rooms.

The Senior Citizens Centre comprises a 150-seat hall and lounge, with kitchen facilities for use by residents and non-residents.

Energy-saving initiatives have been introduced through the use of an innovative mechanical ventilation system, stormwater harvesting for irrigation and passive sun-control devices.
