The Lane Cove Tunnel is 3.6 kilometres long and was the final link in the Sydney Orbital Motorway System. It connects the M2, Gore Hill Freeway and Military Rd/Falcon Street. In 2003, Jackson Teece in association with Kiah-Infranet, assisted Thiess John Holland and their principal consultants, Parsons Brinckerhoff, in winning the RTA’s BOOT scheme bid to design and conduct the Lane Cove Tunnel.

This project involved tunnelling, the substantial upgrading of Epping Road and the reconfiguration of the Gore Hill Freeway.

Jackson Teece’s involvement included assisting in the design and documentation of many of the engineering structures that required urban design consideration, particularly the design of the control centre, exhaust stack buildings and ventilation stations. We also had a significant role in stakeholder communications, and much time was spent consulting with the RTA and the community to deliver the most appropriate built forms to these infrastructure elements.
