At One Scott Street, Jackson Teece collaborated with Waterford Properties to deliver a building that truly reflects its riverside home. Located directly opposite the Brisbane CBD, this iconic structure seamlessly integrates luxurious interiors with a natural external form.

Compromising of 12 luxurious full-floor apartments over 15 storeys, the design utilises an asymmetrical planning device to create a building form lacking in 90 degree corners to capture views and respond to solar and prevailing breezes.

The public face of the building, an elegant pre-cast screen to the eastern facade, presents a dramatic sculptural landmark to the busy traffic passing across the Story Bridge. This element creates an identity for the project with a pattern derived from the native riverside flora, the mangroves and the melaleuca trees which inhabited the peninsula prior to settlement.

Jackson Teece worked with Waterford Properties to provide a distinctive building that reflects its riverside setting. Interior Design, also by Jackson Teece, combines the formality of a grand house with relaxed apartment living.

Internally, the apartment planning provides a central individual lobby accessed directly from the building lift. This lobby space creates a distinct separation between public and private areas, with sweeping views and a breezeway that flows through the mid-section of the building. Working as a partner to the external concrete screen, a decorative glass screen acts as an air grille, allowing significant cross-flow ventilation throughout the lobby, gallery and kitchen. This connection with the outside environment is a natural design progression, always linked to the architectural influences outlined in the brief.
