The M7 (Westlink M7) Motorway is Sydney’s largest urban infrastructure road project and was designed to improve transport across Western Sydney. It intersects the M5 (at Prestons), M4 (at Eastern Creek) and the M2 (at West Baulkham Hills). It comprises 17 interchanges, 38 overpasses and underpasses, 146 bridges, 20 kilometres work of local street upgrades and a 4 metre wide, 40 kilometre shared pedestrian path/cycleway.

Following the co-ordination of early design studies, Jackson Teece was retained by the RTA as Team Leader / Co-ordinator of inputs into the initial design report and the preparation of urban and landscape design concepts for the Motorway and cycle route.

We participated in the tender evaluation process and had an on-going role throughout all phases of the project and its delivery by Leighton Contractors and Abigroup Contractors (Joint Venture). This included design verification throughout the stages of concept design, detail design and construction phases for all relevant construction drawings and works in progress. Features included the integrated design of noise barriers and bridges, landscaping (1.5 million native trees) and shared path lighting.
